About Us
Carleen Burrell, the owner of Jackie’s Restaurant RVA, was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia.
Carleen is known in RVA as a true down to earth person with a big heart.
In the early 1990s, Carleen provided mobile lunch service to the Eastend area with a Food Truck that she ran for several years. After deciding the relocate, she left the Food Truck to her mother, Jacqueline Jones, who continued to serve the area with great food.
Carleen is also known by most for bringing some of the best entertainment to the city of Richmond with Carleen Presents.
She stepped out on faith in 2015, taking over a Soul Food restaurant called “Elliott’s.” Under her ownership, Elliott’s quickly became one of RVA’s best places to go for some good soul food.
In loving memory of her mother, the late Jacqueline Jones, Carleen later changed the name to Jackie’s Restaurant “Southern Style Food.” She was overjoyed and honored to dedicate the restaurant to her mother.
Giving back to the community has, and always will be, very important to Carleen. It has also allowed her the opportunity to give back to the community in many ways.
Carleen has employed many after being released from incarceration, providing them a second chance in the workforce and the community. She has also provided a place for the homeless population to have Thanksgiving meals.
Carleen has built a rapport with many surrounding officials who frequent Jackie’s Restaurant. She continues to look for ways to provide additional resources in the community through partnerships with other service providers.
In loving memory of Jacqueline Jones
